World Refugee Day - Story Telling

  • June 20, 2019
  • TBD

As a way to inform our members about activities going on in the local area, we will be posting information in our event section of the website.  This is not a Friendship Force event, just a way to keep you informed.  If you decide to go, keep your eye open for other FF Members!

Every year, the UN Refugee Agency recognizes June 20th as World Refugee Day to spotlight the millions of refugees and displaced persons across the globe. World Refugee Day honors the strength and courage of refugees and encourages public awareness and support of the refugees, people who have had to flee their home lands because of conflict or natural disaster.

World Relief will be partnering with community leaders to bring several citywide collaborative events with opportunities to celebrate, meet our newest neighbors, and support the work of welcoming refugees and immigrants into Sacramento.  Sacramento has led the nation in welcoming refugees. As the largest resettlement location in the U.S., our city welcomed over 5,000 refugees in 2018 alone!

Join us, the Sacramento Republic FC, the Sacramento Food Bank, community leaders, advocates, friends, and family in our month-long celebration.
