Hispanics in America &

Dia de los Muertos

In October Dan Ortiz gave a great presentation about the history of Hispanics in the Americas.  He then talked about the Mexican tradition of Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead.  Click here to enjoy this informative recording of that meeting.

Friendship Garden Work Crew

Chris Smith, Stephanie Turner, Bill DeBlonk, Kathy Tuttle DeBlonk and their grandson Nick joined several Sister Cities members as they gave some love to the trees in the Friendship Garden at the Natomas Community Center. The trees represent Sacramento’s nine sister cities: Bethlehem, Palestine; Chisinau, Moldova; Hamilton, New Zealand; Jinan, China; Liestal, Switzerland; Manila and Pasay City, Philippines; Matsuyama, Japan; San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua; and Yongsan-gu, South Korea. — with Bill DeBlonk and Kathy Tuttle DeBlonk. Our club works closely with the Sister Cities organization to promote cross cultural understanding.
