My Sister’s House provides a culturally appropriate and responsive safe haven for Asian and Pacific Islander women, as well as other underserved women and children who are impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Within this organization are many opportunities to help survivors move on with their lives.
Nilda Valmores, Executive Director, will give an overview of the organization, how the staff and volunteers work to assist the women, and how you can help in carrying out their mission.
Lynn Meyer will tell how she has volunteered for several years teaching English as a Second Language to many of the clients, and how this has helped them on their road to recovery. Other volunteer opportunities will be discussed.
