Retro Cuba (Opening Reception)
Following up on our July 24 meeting on Cuba, here’s an opportunity to learn more about Cuba. Jorge Santana, one of our speakers, will make a presentation at 6:30 PM.
August 5 – October 4, 2022
Gallery 625 is proud to exhibit the work of three photographers and a painter who provide a glimpse into the fascinating world of Cuba today. The images of renowned photographer Roberto Salas pay tribute to farming in a country where food is scarce; Francisco J. Rivera’s abstract paintings use satire and metaphor to reflect his views on Cuban society; Jose Ramirez’s photography captures moments on the street; and Jorge A. Santana’s photographs offer a window into the neighborhoods of Havana. Together they offer a retrospective of Cuban life, and a testament to the human spirit on this little-known island.
