Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park

March is Women's History Month:  Let's explore and honor the efforts and sacrifices of American civilians on the World War II Home Front.  The Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond produced 747 ships during World War II, the most productive shipyards in history.  The industry that supported the shipyards was essential to victory.

Besides the many exhibits in the museum, we will have the opportunity to hear one of the "Rosies" tell her story at 10:30 am, and at 2:00 pm there will be a speaker on the Japanese-American Experience in WWII.  In between, we will have lunch at a nearby restaurant and also visit the Rosie the Riveter Memorial and view nearby WWII sites.

Admission to the museum is free.  For more information on the park, see https://www.nps.gov/rori/index.htm

Logistics:  Let's meet to carpool at Helen Flach's house in Davis, 4104 El Macero Drive, departing at 9:00 am on Friday, March 17th.  If you prefer to meet us at the park, the address is 1414 Harbour Way South, Suite 3000RichmondCA 94804

Please register here so we will know how many are coming, and let the park know to expect us.
