Join with members of our club as we journey to historic Benicia, California. There we will learn about California history as we visit the Benicia Capitol State Historic Park and The Museum of History Benicia.

The Benicia Capitol State Historic Park (115 West G Street) is dedicated to California's third capitol building, where the California State Legislature convened from February 3, 1853, to February 24, 1854, when they voted to move the state capital to Sacramento. It is the only pre-Sacramento capitol that remains. The park includes the Fischer-Hanlon House an early Benicia building that was moved to the property and converted into a home in 1858, after the legislature departed. The 14 room house is restored and furnished in 1880 decor.

The Museum of History Benicia (2060 Camel Road) highlights California history as viewed through the lens of Benicia, exhibits cover topics from pre-history through the present day, reflecting the exciting changes in the state of California since the city's founding in 1847.

Register here (maximum number is 12, deadline to register: October 18th).

Bring money for entrance and lunch cost (if any). There is a $3.00 per/person fee paid at the Benicia State Capitol.  Lunch will be on you own at one of the nearby restaurants in downtown Benicia
