This month's focus is on "Refuse". Refuse (n) (Ref’use) seems like a very odd photographic topic for the photographer who loves to capture the beautiful and the sublime and is more artistically inclined. This topic of refuse is not beautiful; it is a really ugly story begging to be visualized from beginning to end. For the most part, we only know a slim portion of the story.
This month we challenge you to document the refuse around you. One example, as shown above, is to collect 7 days of your refuse (clean, solid, non-organic waste) and photograph it. Other photography options are in this month's Focus Notes (click here).
