The United Nation's IPCC reports that grow ever more urgent, along with worsening droughts, floods, and extreme weather events around the world, together may make it seems as if there's no hope for tackling climate change. According to surveys from the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, more than half of all Americans now say they are either "alarmed" or "concerned" about global warming. From 2014 to 2019, the number of Americans saying they are "alarmed" nearly tripled.

Lisa Howard, co-leader of the Sacramento-Roseville chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby, will talk about innovations that provide reason for optimism, explore the reasons why leading scientists such as Jane Goodall and Katharine Hayhoe believe there's still hope, and discuss ways to turn personal apathy and despair into hope. Come prepared to be inspired!
